- You don't need to tell us who you are. No sign-ups, no passwords.
- Your scores live on your device. We never see them.
- In an online game, the other players see the name you type. When the game ends, it's gone. We don't keep it.
- Use your first name or a fun name. Never type your full name, address or school.
- No ads, and nobody is watching what you do.
- Worried about something? Tell a grown-up you trust. They can email us.
- No accounts, no logins, no ads, no tracking, no cookies.
- We don't store anything about players on our servers.
- Scores and settings stay on your own device.
- In online games, the names players type are passed between the devices in that game and then gone.
What Globe Drop keeps, and where
| What | Where it's kept | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Top 10 scores, daily challenge results, settings, which places you've already played | Only on your device (browser storage) | Anyone using that device. Clearing the browser's site data deletes it. |
| Names typed for pass-and-play games | Only on your device | Anyone using that device |
| Messages sent with "Report a problem" | Sent to us through our website host (Netlify Forms), with the question you were on and your browser type | Only us. We delete them once dealt with. Please don't include personal details. |
| Names, pins and scores in online and classroom games | Not stored. They pass through our live-game service to the other devices in that game while it's being played. | The other players in that game (and the teacher, in classroom mode) |
We don't collect email addresses, ages, locations, photos or contact details. There is nothing to sign up for.
In classroom mode the teacher chooses whether students type a name or get a fun name like "Brave Otter". We suggest first names only.
Our promise about names: names typed in online games are only ever shown to the other players in that same game. We never save them, never show them on a public list or leaderboard, and never use them for anything else. If that ever needed to change, we'd update this page first and ask for parents' consent where the law requires it.
Services we use
Globe Drop runs on two outside services. Like any website, they handle basic technical information (such as a device's IP address) to deliver the game, under their own privacy policies.
- Netlify hosts the website: netlify.com/privacy
- Supabase carries the live messages for online games (no database tables, nothing saved): supabase.com/privacy
The maps, flags, places and fonts all come from the Globe Drop website itself. There are no third-party scripts, analytics, ad networks or social media trackers.
Children
Globe Drop is made for children and families, so it's built to collect as little as possible. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game doesn't need any. If you think a child's information has reached us somehow, email us and we'll deal with it.
For teachers and school IT
To play online and classroom games, the network needs to allow:
globedrop.appandwww.globedrop.app: the game itself (HTTPS)pctgwawqwxcvuzetyyqr.supabase.co: live game messages (HTTPS and secure websockets on port 443). If the web filter inspects secure traffic, this address may need to be excluded from inspection.
Everything else (single-player games, pass-and-play and the daily challenge) works offline once the game has loaded. To test a device and network, open the connection check.
